How the LRF responds

Media Cell Plan

This plan details the multi agency media response during a major incident, as the media will be essential in communicating with the public in such circumstances. The media also offers the quickest and most accessible way of getting information to the public.

In the event of a major incident/emergency the media will want fast, early and accurate information and it is important that local agencies give a co-ordinated response to ensure the correct public safety messages are communicated in a consistent way.

This procedure covers when a ‘media cell’ will be formed, the roles and responsibilities of staff involved, the actions those people may need to think about and stand down procedures.
