Fuel supply disruption plan
A lack of fuel could occur at any time due to a variety of different circumstances. This could be as a result of a natural or other disaster affecting supply, transportation or refinery issues. If this were the case, then a National Fuel Plan would be implemented.
In Bedfordshire, all category 1 responders have considered their own business continuity plans and evaluated how they would manage with little or no fuel.
BLLRF’s Fuel Disruption Procedure details the plans in place in the county to bring all agencies together so that any crisis can be managed in a coordinated approach, thus reducing the potential impact on the public.
The plan further outlines how the public will be kept informed via the media and community meetings, and advises on alternatives to road use and how to reduce fuel consumption.
